Important Information

When ordering an item from Old Barn Leather, don’t forget

Certain colours are not possible - a book cannot be dyed white
We mostly use vegetable tanned leather. It will be tooled, painted, dyed and stitched by hand
If you have supplied the artwork for your item, it will be unique to you and will never be reproduced unless at your request
Leather is a natural product and its surface is seldom uniform, which is part of its charm. Stretch marks, gentle surface and colour variations are characteristic and small blemishes and scars may also be present. These may also be due to tanning and curing processes.

Packaging and Postage

Postage, unless otherwise stated, will be added when you place your order.
Most items are sent using Royal Mail small parcel service.
Certain larger items may have to be sent by parcel courier and their prices vary. In this case I will let you know the postage that applies before finalising your order.
Where you are ordering more than one item for delivery at the same time, postage will be modified according to the combined weight and size of the package.

The scope of a design is limited by its intricacy and the area of the surface on which it is to be carved. Lots of extremely fine lines carved close together, degrade the integrity of the leather's surface. Design Service

If you require Old Barn Leather to create a design for you, or you supply us with an image with instructions to make modifications to it, a design fee £10.00 will apply. This is payable at the start of the design process and can be paid electronically via the invoice which will be emailed to you. Once you have confirmed that you are happy with the design drawings, you will be directed to the Commission Shop where you can place your order. Stage photos will be sent to you as the project progresses and you will be asked for final colour confirmation just before any dye or paint is applied to the final carving. Please get in touch if you require any further information.

Further Design Information

Here you can tell me more about the design you would like. Including: * Specific paint colour combinations * Number of surfaces to be embellished * If you want designs on the front and back covers * Links to images or text you would like me to work from when creating a design for you; this could include existing products from my online shop Links can be to images you found online (e.g., publicly shared images or your own images that are available through Cloud storage). Please state if you would like to send me a picture by email attachment and I will arrange that.

You may want to consider designs both on the front flap and on the body of the pouch itself. This will require price adjustment but let's discuss this via email. Do you have an image, text or a specific design you would like transferred to your project? You may have seen one of my designs and would like it modified in some way? If so, tell me which design it is (or you can send me a link to it) and outline how you'd like it to be adapted to your project? Are there pictures you would like me to see? If you have links to images that would be helpful (e.g., publicly shared images or your own images that are available through Cloud storage), you can include the links in the box below. Or you could send me a picture attachment by email once I have been in touch. If you have an idea but would like me to make up a design, or you would like me to make substantial changes to an image you send me, just give me a few pointers and I will do my best to work out a design to suit your requirements. The design can always be adjusted and tweaked until you are completely satisfied with it. Standard wrist bands generally come in two lengths (wrist circumference): Size 1: Medium Size 2: Long However, if you require a shorter or longer band, please let me know the measurement of your wrist in the 'Further Design Information' box below. Gauntlets come in ONE standard circumference size which is adjustable to most wrist sizes. Other circumference sizes are available on request.
