Terms of Service

Communication between you, the customer and Old Barn Leather

  • Please contact me via email if you require any further information.

  • If you are unsure of any of my descriptions or would like more details about products in my shop, please let me know and I will be happy to let you have as much information as I can.

  • When you have commissioned me to make an item for you, I will try to communicate with you as much as possible before any carving takes place.

  • I will also send you interim photographs if you would like me to. This is to ensure that I have understood your instructions as far as possible.

  • I will let you know as soon as it has been posted and I will forward you any tracking information that is available (this may depend on the country to which the item is being dispatched).

Payment Options

  • Old Barn Leather accepts all major credit and debit cards

  • You may use PayPal if you prefer

  • Old Barn Leather has no access to your credit or debit card details

Commissions and Personalisation

  • You may wish to have an item made using your own design and I welcome this as it makes your project unique.

  • You can commission a product from scratch …

  • … or you can modify or add to many of the products my shop.

  • Your design will never be used on anyone else’s product thus keeping it unique to you.

  • It is also important to know that some finely detailed designs may not lend themselves well to the carving process.

  • If this does turn out to be the case, we can discuss your idea and I will do my very best to come up with the closest alternative possible.

  • Do get in touch so we can discuss your requirements.

The Commission Ordering Process

  1. Have a look through my Shop and Gallery for inspiration and to see the current Old Barn Leather product range.

  2. Read through the details in my Bespoke section, especially ‘Colour & Design Information’. If you can’t find the information you are looking for, please email me.

  3. In the BESPOKE section, locate the ‘Commission Enquiries’ page where you will find the appropriate enquiry form for your project.

  4. Once I have received your enquiry form, I will email you within THREE working days to confirm your enquiry and to begin the communication process.

  5. If you require Old Barn Leather to create a complex design for you from scratch, or you supply an image that requires substantial modifications, a design fee £15.00 will apply.

  6. If your design is highly personalised (if, for example, you require a name, initials or a date to be carved), I will require a 25% deposit which will be payable before I begin the carving process.

  7. I will notify you if any deposit is required once we have agreed on your final design.

  8. Once you are completely happy with my proposals, AND I have received your deposit (if a deposit is required), I will start work on your project.

  9. I will send you interim photographs if you would like me to.

  10. On completion of your project, I will notify you that it is ready for dispatch.

  11. I will let you know as soon as it has been posted and I will forward you any tracking information that is available (this may depend on the country to which the item is being dispatched).

  • If your order is not in stock I will let you know. If this is the case, please allow two to three weeks for dispatch. If I can dispatch your order any sooner, I will.
