Leather Workshops & Courses
The Old Barn Leather studio is now open for leathercraft workshops.
All sessions are arranged at times that are mutually suitable, rather than on set dates. This allows us to tailor tuition and projects to your particular time constraints, pace and preferences. Whether you are looking for a group workshop experience or to learn a new skill by yourself, Old Barn Leather offers a range of flexible options to suit you.
During each workshop, you will learn about leather’s background story; where it comes from and how different types of leather are processed; how leather is used and how to take care of your own leather items. You will also be introduced to a range of the leathercrafter’s tools and equipment before having a go yourself. The aim will be to complete a small project - how complex that project is will depend on the workshop you choose.
Workshops range from two and a half-hour taster sessions to full day workshops. Multi-session courses are also available by special arrangement, and content for these will depend on what techniques you are interested in learning and what project you want to make.
Currently, there are FOUR different standard workshops available:
Mini-workshop/Taster Session (length: 3 hours)
Experience Workshop (length: 5 hours)
Full day Workshop (length: 7 hours)
Travelling Workshop (booking per hour)
