Woodland Spirit 1 is the first of a triplet of tree characters from Old Barn Leather. Here he is, hiding amongst the leaf litter on a crisp autumn day, just waiting for spring.

He is, after all, the symbol for spring, rebirth and regrowth and the banishment of winter and darkness. You often see this face and its kind carved into wood and even directly onto tree trunks.
