Mighty Oak
Mighty Oak
The oak supports more life and biodiversity than any other native tree species in Britain.
Inspiration for this cover came from a walk out in the garden one crisp autumn day, just as the leaves on our young oak were beginning to change. Quercus robur is the Latin name for the English oak and this may very well be the start of a new range of book covers for me.
Incidentally, our leather is all vegetable tanned and oak leaves and bark are very often used in the tanning process. (This is unlike shoes, leather jackets and sofa covers, which are usually tanned using chemicals like chromium salts). So the mighty oak, from its leaves, bark and acorns to the wonderful shade it gives, are very important to us here at Old Barn Leather.
This hand carved and hand stitched leather journal or sketchbook slipcover is from the Nature Range
All Old Barn Leather journal covers come complete with an appropriately sized notebook.
All our products are hand crafted. That means that these hand-carved and hand-stitched refillable leather covers can be personalised.
It is usually possible to add detail to any of our journal covers, such as a name, initials or a date. This makes it a unique gift that will last a lifetime. If this is something that would interest you, let me know by filling in the form in the checkout section.
